It was a great piece showcasing the development of our at-home breath testing platform for digestive conditions, the OMED Health Breath Analyzer and App. The piece also shed light on the fantastic and ground-breaking work at our parent company, Owlstone Medical, in the early detection of lung cancer.
If you missed it, our CEO, Billy Boyle, demonstrated how to use our soon-to-be-launched, OMED Health Breath Analyzer and App; a hydrogen-methane breath analysis device to support the management of digestive conditions. These two key gases are produced by certain bacteria in the digestive system, and alongside the tracking of certain lifestyle factors, diet, and treatments can build a bigger image of what may be happening in your gut. This bank of vital information could indicate the possible presence of underlying conditions such as, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), or carbohydrate malabsorption (CM); both of which can cause IBS-like symptoms and cause significant disruptions to daily life. This data can then be shown to the doctor or the clinician network as part of the solution, to develop personalized treatment plans.
